LIPPA Medical Tent – Bringing Care Where It’s Needed Most
In a crisis, the most minor acts of care can mean the difference between suffering and relief. In Gaza, where hospitals are overwhelmed, medicine is scarce, and disease spreads rapidly through overcrowded shelters, access to healthcare has become a desperate need.
In June 2024, LIPPA took action. After assessing the urgent needs in Deir al-Balah, where thousands of displaced families had sought refuge, it became clear that a medical response was critical. The solution? A fully equipped medical tent, staffed by experienced doctors, offered free treatment to those with nowhere else to turn.
A Fast and Focused Response
Led by our dedicated team in Gaza, the project came together in record time. Within just three days, LIPPA:
- Assembled a professional medical team specializing in internal medicine.
- Built and furnished a medical tent inside a shelter, ensuring easy access for displaced families.
- Secured essential medication and medical supplies, ensuring patients received free treatment.
The need was immediate, and so was our response.
Health on the Frontlines of Crisis
With thousands of people packed into overcrowded shelters, conditions were a breeding ground for illness. Poor sanitation, contaminated water, and extreme food shortages have left many vulnerable to infections, dehydration, and preventable diseases.
Through the LIPPA Medical Tent, we were able to:
- Treat over 100 displaced individuals, including children, the elderly, and those suffering from chronic illnesses.
- Provide urgent medical care to those affected by war-related trauma and illness.
- Distribute free medication to ensure ongoing treatment for those in need.
For many, this tent was the only place they could turn to for help.
