Breaking Barriers Through Football: LIPPA’s “In Sports We Are All Equal” Project in Turkey

Sports have the power to unite, inspire, and create lasting change. In March and April 2024, LIPPA launched the “In Sports We Are All Equal” project in Southern Turkey, using the universal language of football to bring together children from refugee camps and local communities.

Football as a Bridge Between Communities

Sports offer more than just a game for children who have experienced displacement and hardship—they provide a sense of belonging, joy, and hope. This initiative gave children a safe space to play, connect, and form friendships, regardless of their backgrounds.

Football became the bridge that helped break down cultural barriers, fostering inclusion, respect, and mutual understanding. Through teamwork and shared experiences, children learned that what unites them is far greater than what divides them.

Promoting Equality Through Play

LIPPA believes every child deserves a chance to play, grow, and dream, no matter their circumstances. This project was about more than just sports—empowerment, social integration, and the belief that every child is equal on and off the field.

The initiative reinforced values that extend far beyond the game by encouraging collaboration, fair play, and friendship. These moments of connection and joy are the foundation for stronger, more united communities.

Building Hope, One Match at a Time

At LIPPA, we see sports as a tool for positive social change. The “In Sports, We Are All Equal” project is a testament to our commitment to creating opportunities for children to thrive, heal, and build a brighter future—one goal, game, and friendship at a time.

Because on the football field, there are no borders—only teamwork, passion, and the pure joy of the game.
